Collier Clerk Passport Photo Service Now Available at Heritage Bay Government Center

In November 2024, our office introduced a new passport photo option at the courthouse’s main recording office to help expedite the process and avoid delays in releasing passports. The passport photo service is now available at our satellite office at Heritage Bay Government Center, every weekday from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

The U.S. Department of State has strict requirements for passport photos, and photos that do not meet these standards cause passport processing delays that may require you to cancel or reschedule your travel plans, wasting time and money. Photos must be of a specific size and layout with a white background, and the face must be easily recognizable and unobscured by glasses, hats, or hair. Photo guidelines are available on the Department of State website at travel.state.gov. Due to the intricacy of passport photos, applicants are highly advised to visit a passport office or facility offering passport photo services to ensure that the photos meet the required standards.

Applicants may choose to have their photos taken at our location when they submit a passport application or may opt to have a photo taken elsewhere that meets the standards. The photo service cost is $15 per applicant, offering great value as it reduces the number of trips back and forth to correct photos that are “not quite right.”

Citizens who use the passport photo option at Heritage Bay may walk in during the times noted above. Appointments are recommended for those choosing our Courthouse location by visiting collierclerk.com/passports. Additional details about passport requirements, applications for minors (children under 16 and children aged 16-17), U.S. Passport Cards, and passport renewals are  available on our website.
