The Clerk’s Report – May 2026

I hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic spring season and our beautiful weather.

The Board of County Commissioners designated May 7 as the National Day of Prayer—a meaningful way to begin the month. As we move through May, this day sets a thoughtful tone, encouraging us to support one another and remain mindful of the values that strengthen our community.

We are recognizing our court staff during Court Employee Appreciation Week, May 3–9, 2026. Our court team consists of 75 employees. From assisting customers and supporting the self-help center, to maintaining the official record in courtrooms and facilitating the jury process, their work is essential to our daily operations.

Mother’s Day is May 10—an opportunity to recognize the women who shape our lives. This will be my first Mother’s Day without my mother, whose strong work ethic and rising career shaped my life and inspired my drive for success. As a mom, I cherish my children and grandchildren more than anything. Whether you are a mom, have a mom, or know a mom, it’s a meaningful time to pause and say thank you for all that mothers do. From life-shaping moments to quiet, everyday acts of care, their impact is lasting. However you choose to celebrate—through a simple phone call, a handwritten note, or time spent together—taking a moment to show appreciation can make their day truly special.

Our Operation Green Light event held last month was a tremendous success. Forty- one customers took advantage of the opportunity to pay their outstanding court obligations without additional collection fees and moved one step closer to driver license reinstatement.

This month, we honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is observed the last Monday in May, and National Peace Officers Memorial Day is May 15. We recognize the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. These days serve as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms and keep our communities safe. As you gather with family and friends, pause to reflect on the courage and dedication of those who served, ensuring their legacy is never forgotten.
