The Clerk’s Report – August 2025

I hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing summer enjoying our beautiful beaches! With the start of a new school year, I want to remind families of the 2025 Florida Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday to help save money. The sales tax holiday begins Friday, August 1 and extends through Sunday, August 31 so make sure to take advantage of these possible savings.

As summer winds down and the back-to-school season ramps up, now is a great time to check your passport’s expiration date, especially if you’re planning holiday travel later this year. The U.S. Department of State’s Online Passport Renewal Service is designed to make it easier and faster to renew your U.S. passport from the comfort of your home.

We have a lot of important updates to share with you this month. From the recently approved millage rates that impact local property taxes, to key deadlines for the Value Adjustment Board process, there’s plenty to keep in mind. Plus, we’re excited to highlight the progress of the new state veterans’ home, a major development for our community.

Lastly, as season approaches, we are booking speaking opportunities for schools, HOAs, and other organizations in the coming months. I hope to share insights about our local government structure and the roles of various constitutional offices. Our presentations can provide your students or organization members with valuable information on the specific services provided by the Clerk’s Office.
