December is the month in which we all look both backward and forward, and the Recording office is no exception. It has been a busy and productive year as we have launched several new initiatives to add ease and accessibility to the recording process.
Our out-of-state customers are enjoying the convenience of ordering online certified copies, both paper and e-certified. Finding your documents and popping them into a cart is even easier with our new enhanced official record search; we have added parcel numbers for your convenience.
We introduced public and mobile e-recording last spring, which added options for submitting documents for public record. Now, customers can create an account, snap a quick photo, and upload it to our e-recording portal from anywhere at any time. Customers are finding that this reduces or even eliminates trips to the office.
Online marriage license applications and ceremonies are another new option launched this year, and they have continued to increase in popularity, growing from just a small handful of applications to almost a full appointment calendar every day. Engaged couples are proving to enjoy preparations for their special day from the comfort and convenience of home or office.
Our latest program offers in-office passport photos. These are especially helpful for those whose photos may not quite meet passport agency standards and who want to save a trip back to the original photographer. The staff has been trained to take applicants of all ages’ photos and do so at a competitive price.
As we wrap up the year, the Clerk’s Recording office sends a reminder to submit any documents needing to be recorded in 2024 as soon as possible. Now is also the time to think about applying for, or renewing, passports for spring break travel.
