Guardianship AuditsIn Collier County, the Office of Inspector General oversees the audit of the guardian of the property’s Initial and Annual Reports, also known as the Initial Verified Inventory and the Annual Accounting pursuant to Florida Statute (F.S.) 744.368. The audit is intended to ensure that there has been an accurate, complete, consistent, timely filing, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. The Clerk’s office has 90 days to audit and issue a report to the court to advise of the audit results. The court will review the Auditor’s report and make a determination of approval or disapproval of the filings submitted.
