It’s hard to believe we are already into Spring! I hope you are enjoying this weather.
We have been busy with community presentations and we are holding a free informational seminar on April 16 at the Government Center. Registration information is included in this newsletter, please join us for this educational seminar.
When the weather is this beautiful, we tend to see an increase in door-to-door solicitors. In Florida, it’s a crime to solicit without a permit. It is best to refrain from opening the door to strangers unless you have a prescheduled appointment. Remember to trust your instincts and if something about the solicitor at your door doesn’t appear to be legitimate, contact the sheriff’s office.
It is important to take every opportunity to reduce your risk of falling victim to fraud; if you haven’t already done so, I urge you to subscribe to our free Risk Alert Notification Program. Since launching this free service in January 2020, we’ve grown to 9,781 subscribers, and every property owner should avail themselves of this free service. Although the service cannot prevent all fraudulent activity from occurring, it provides subscribers with the opportunity to determine if activity was legitimately initiated.
I want to thank all residents who have served as jurors. Without you, our justice system could not function fairly or effectively. Your willingness to give your time and attention ensures that every person receives the right to a trial by jury of their peers. Serving on a jury is one of the most important ways citizens participate in the judicial process, and your dedication strengthens the integrity of our courts and our community.
I know it’s the dreaded month for filing taxes, but it’s also a time of renewal, and there are so many reasons to be thankful and optimistic. We live in beautiful Collier County with fresh air, warm weather, and a strong economy. Have a happy and blessed Passover and Easter!
