The Office of Inspector General (OIG) provides independent, objective audits, reviews, and investigations designed to add value, improve Collier County government, and preserve public trust. The OIG provides citizens of Collier County with professional oversight and cost-effective internal audit services to ensure that the resources entrusted to county government are used efficiently, effectively, and properly. Additionally, the work of the OIG is to educate citizens and policy makers regarding the operation of government, while assisting in the administration of the Clerk’s constitutional duties.
The OIG has immediate opportunities for Auditors and Inspectors:
- The Auditor II will perform routine and more complex audits, reviews, and consulting projects for the Clerk and county in areas such as fiscal propriety, compliance, procurement, and contract review, while being alert to fraud, waste, and abuse. This highly visible position serves as a primary auditor and will be involved in governmental and various internal audits and assignments.
- The Auditor I will perform audits, reviews, and consulting projects for the Clerk and county in areas such as fiscal propriety, compliance, procurement, and contract review, while being alert to fraud, waste, and abuse. This position serves as a primary auditor and will be involved in governmental and various internal audits and assignments. - The Inspector II will perform essential reviews, evaluations, inspections, investigations, and other oversight projects/engagements for the Clerk and county in areas such as fiscal propriety, compliance, procurement, and contract review, while being alert to fraud, waste, and abuse. This highly visible position is focused on ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of operating policies, procedures, and systems throughout the county and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- The Inspector I will perform basic reviews, inspections, evaluations, and investigations for the Clerk and county in areas such as fiscal propriety, compliance, procurement, and contract review, while being alert to potential fraud, waste, and abuse. This professional review will determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, and assure the reliability, accuracy, and completeness of records.
