As fireworks light up the Florida sky and families across Collier County gather to celebrate Independence Day, we\u2019re reminded of the enduring principles that define our nation\u2014freedom, justice, and civic duty. The Fourth of July isn\u2019t just a celebration of our country\u2019s founding; it\u2019s a time to reflect on the role each of us plays in upholding the values that make America strong.<\/p>\n
At the Collier County Clerk\u2019s Office, we are proud to serve this community by ensuring transparency, accountability, and access to justice for all. This Independence Day, we recommit to those principles and extend our deepest gratitude to the citizens we serve, as well as to the veterans, public servants, and everyday heroes who continue to protect the freedoms we celebrate.<\/p>\n
Thank you to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) for reviewing our FY 2026 budget request. Our budget was submitted to the Board on May 1st<\/sup>. At the June 19th budget workshop, I provided a brief overview of our recent achievements, budget requests, and allocations for the following year. After our budget presentation there were no objections or questions. The final Budget hearings will be September 14th<\/sup> and 18th<\/sup> at 5:05 p.m. in the BCC Chamber, where we hope our request is approved.<\/p>\n As we celebrate our Nation\u2019s independence this month, I want to highlight one of our constitutional rights: every citizen\u2019s right to a jury trial. Many countries do not have jury trials. It is one of the things that make us unique as a country. Jury trials provide an opportunity for citizens to participate in the judicial process. I highly encourage everyone who receives their invitation (also known a legal summons to participate) to be part of the process when summoned, it is our right and responsibility as citizens to protect our Judicial process.<\/p>\n
