{"id":18871,"date":"2025-04-28T13:26:19","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T17:26:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.collierclerk.com\/?p=18871"},"modified":"2026-01-20T12:59:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T17:59:31","slug":"community-voices-concerns-over-proposed-recovery-residence-in-golden-gate-estates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/app.collierclerk.com\/collierclerkcom\/community-voices-concerns-over-proposed-recovery-residence-in-golden-gate-estates\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Voices Concerns Over Proposed Recovery Residence on Golden Gate Pkwy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A proposal to establish a new recovery residence off of Golden Gate Parkway, just east of I-75, has been <strong>postponed<\/strong> to a future Collier County Board of Commissioners meeting (date to be determined), giving residents more time to understand and weigh in on the project.<\/p>\n<p>The plan\u2014officially titled <em>Hope Home II<\/em>\u2014would amend the county\u2019s Growth Management Plan to create a new subdistrict, allowing the development of a recovery residence at 3150 62nd Street SW. The property is about 4.47 acres and sits near residential homes and the Kiddie Korral day care center on Golden Gate Parkway.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-18968 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.collierclerk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proposed-Hope-Home-II.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"319\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/app.collierclerk.com\/collierclerkcom\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proposed-Hope-Home-II.jpg 482w, https:\/\/app.collierclerk.com\/collierclerkcom\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proposed-Hope-Home-II-272x300.jpg 272w, https:\/\/app.collierclerk.com\/collierclerkcom\/wp-content\/uploads\/Proposed-Hope-Home-II-136x150.jpg 136w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/>If approved, the zoning change would allow up to 23 residents and 3 supervisors to live on-site as part of a structured recovery program. The property could alternatively be used as a single-family home or family care facility.<\/p>\n<p>This proposal is part of two related agenda items (Items 9.A. and 9.B.)\u2014both continued to a future meeting. The second item calls for rezoning the property from its current \u201cEstates\u201d classification to a Community Facility Planned Unit Development (CFPUD) to support the planned use.<\/p>\n<p>Residents in the area have raised concerns due to the property&#8217;s proximity to neighborhoods and the nearby daycare center.
