The deadline for filing final bills was at the end of February, and the session officially began on March 4, 2025. Committees continued to meet through the 50th day of session, April 22, 2025, with the last day of the regular session falling on May 2, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The time to get involved in the legislative process is early November prior to the local delegation meetings\u2014and there are several ways for you, as a citizen, to make your voice heard.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Know Your Lawmakers<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The first step is to become familiar with your elected officials. Collier County is represented by the following legislators in our local delegation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Honorable Adam Botana, District 80<\/li>\n<li>The Honorable Yvette Benarroch, District 81<\/li>\n<li>The Honorable Lauren Melo, District 82<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the state level, we are represented in the Florida Senate by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Honorable Kathleen Passidomo, District 28<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reaching out to your legislators and staying informed about their positions can have a significant impact on local and statewide decisions.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Use Online Resources<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Take advantage of the wealth of information available online:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the Florida Senate website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/\">FLSenate.gov<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Visit the Florida House of Representatives website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfloridahouse.gov\/\">FLHouse.gov<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These platforms allow you to track bills, watch live or recorded committee meetings, read legislative analyses, and even submit your opinions on pending legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Your involvement matters.
