On January 7th, I was proudly sworn into office to serve my third term as the Collier County Clerk and Comptroller. The Honorable Judge Joseph G. Foster administered the oath of office along with my fellow Constitutional Officers, Property Appraiser Vickie Downs, Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk, Supervisor of Elections Melissa R. Blazier, and Tax Collector Rob Stoneburner. This joint swearing-in ceremony represents the unified work of the Clerk and Comptroller, Property Appraiser, County Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, and Tax Collector in providing critical services to the Collier County community. Thank you to everyone who attended this historic moment! We are looking forward to a productive 2025 and beyond!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fiscal year 2025 looks like another great year for interest revenue in Collier County. Through December 31, 2024, the County\u2019s investment program has generated over $16M in interest revenue that will help to offset the cost of various County programs. This amount exceeded the $15M earned during the same period during the fiscal year 2024, which was a record-setting year. The earned interest on long-term investments (US Treasuries, agencies, and corporate bonds) currently totals $7M for fiscal year 2025 compared to $3M for the same period during fiscal year 2024.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this newsletter, we have highlighted a few project updates from the January 12<\/span>th<\/span> BCC Meeting. One is the approval of the amendments to the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the Collier County Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC), which was an agenda item initially scheduled for discussion at the Jan 28<\/span>th<\/span> meeting but was added to the agenda without prior advertisement. Another is an update on staff negotiations regarding the Performance Way County-owned property and the Board\u2019s decision to resolicit the parcel.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are currently scheduling presentation dates through 2025. Presentations can be as brief as 15\u201320-minute overviews or more in-depth educational programs for local middle and high school civic classes, homeowners’ associations, civic organizations, professional trade associations or any other group interested in government. Our office provides essential services that you may want to know about and use.
