The holiday season is here! We hope everyone was able to spend time with family on Thanksgiving and are now preparing for a wonderful Christmas celebration.<\/p>\n

On Nov 27th<\/sup>, I was honored to kick off the holiday season at the Farm City BBQ as one of the “Celebrity Servers” along with other local elected officials. I am proud to be a part of such a rich tradition that supports important charities in our community while creating a space for people to meet, enjoy good food, and have fun.<\/p>\n

Our Office participated, again this 5th year, in the 10,000 for Troops Christmas Card tradition sponsored by 92.5 FOX News radio. This is a great way to show our deployed troops around the world how much Southwest Florida appreciates their sacrifice. Clerks and visitors to our office completed 452 cards with positive messages to our troops. Thanks to all for your participation in this annual event!<\/p>\n

As we wrap up 2024, I would like to express my gratitude to the community for their continued support and trust in our Office and the work we do. In addition, I would like to share some achievements from the Clerk\u2019s Office and some reminders to keep your holidays secure.<\/p>\n

Fiscal year 2024 was another record-setting year for interest revenue in Collier County. Through September 30, 2024, the County\u2019s investment program, managed by our Office, has generated over $79M in interest revenue that will help to offset the cost of various County programs. This amount exceeded the fiscal year 2023 amount of $49M.<\/p>\n

I am pleased to share that the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended September 2023 received the prestigious Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This is the 37th consecutive year our Office earned recognition for our transparency and full disclosure of financial statements. A big THANK YOU to our staff, county staff and the Constitutional Officers for their cooperation and their hard work in putting this together and ensuring that our financial reports meet the criteria for excellence.<\/p>\n

As we enter the Christmas season of giving, we want to remind residents to be prudent in researching entities you may consider supporting. Make sure that your dollars are spent for intended purposes. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lastly, I would like to extend an invitation to Collier County couples to participate in our 5th annual Valentine\u2019s Day Wedding and Vow Renewal Ceremony. Engaged couples who are interested in joining should plan to secure their marriage licenses between December 16, 2024, and February 11, 2025, to be eligible to marry on Valentine\u2019s Day. Whether you are planning to marry or renew your vows, we hope you will plan to join us. Limited space is available, so couples are encouraged to register early at collierclerk.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
