As people begin planning their year-end charitable donations, we urge residents to be prudent in researching those entities soliciting your contribution. From small social media crowdfunding initiatives to solicitations from large organizations, vetting the charities that will benefit from your generosity is a must to ensure that your precious dollars are going to the right place. Avoiding fake charity scams is also necessary so that contributions made are tax deductible.<\/p>\n

The Clerk\u2019s Office of Inspector General (OIG) advises the following steps prior to donating to a charity:<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
