It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the Clerk\u2019s office had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity&#8217;s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device.<\/p>\n<p>Budget documents must be rated &#8220;proficient&#8221; in all four categories and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award. This award is valid for a one year.<\/p>\n<p>A Certificate of Recognition has been presented to the Collier County Clerk of the Courts \u2013 Accounting Department for their efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am proud to share that this has been the 20<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive year our office earned recognition for our transparency in budgeting,\u201d<\/em> said Collier County Clerk Crystal K.
