WHEREAS, county government is a complex and multifaceted process that affects the lives of all
residents of Collier County; and
WHEREAS, an increased knowledge of how various aspects of county government work can enhance
an individual’s quality of life in Collier County; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable for all county residents to be knowledgeable of the county’s government and
how it works; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County University Extension/4-H Youth Development, the Collier County
Public Schools, and the League of Women Voters of Collier County have co-sponsored the
Know Your County Government Teen Citizenship program for 43 years;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida,
that April 12 - 18, 2026, be designated as
KNOW YOUR COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK IN COLLIER COUNTY
DONE AND ORDERED THIS 14th Day of April 2026.
