Recommendation to appoint Lori Gutierrez to the Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint Lori Gutierrez to the Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee is a five-member committee
created on November 28, 2006, by Ordinance 2006-60, to aid and assist the Board of County Commissioners in carrying
out the purposes of the MSTU, to prepare and recommend an itemized budget, and to recommend work programs and
priorities. Members are to be appointed from different parcels, subdivisions and/or communities within the MSTU.
Terms are four years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There are two vacant seats on this Board. The vacancies were advertised, and one application was received from the
following:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on January 12, 2026, the Committee voted to recommend that
the Board appoint Lori Gutierrez to the Committee, to a four-year term expiring March 13, 2030. A recommendation
memo is included in the backup. The remaining vacancy will continue to be advertised.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for Board
approval. – CMG
RECOMMENDATION(S): That the Board adopts the Committee Recommendation and authorizes the Chair to
execute the attached resolution confirming the appointment.

WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 2006-60 established the Haldeman Creek
Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee to assist the Board of County Commissioners in
carrying out the purposes of the Haldeman Creek Dredging Municipal Service Taxing Unit
(MSTU); and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2006-60, as amended, provides that this Advisory Committee
shall be composed of five members who reside within and generally represent the MSTU; and
WHEREAS, there are two vacant seats on this Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Committee has provided the Board of County Commissioners
with its recommendation for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI.INTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that LORI GUTIERREZ is hereby
appointed to the Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee, to serve a four-
year term expiring March 13, 2030.
