Agenda 02/10/2026 Iterm #16F 2 (Interlocal Agreement with the Board and the Greater Naples Fire Department for Collier County EMS to house and provide the additional staffing for an ALS Transport Ambulance at Station 63)2/10/2026 Item # 16.F.2 ID# 2026-144 Executive Summary Recommendation to approve an Interlocal Agreement between the Board of County Commissioners (Board) and the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District (GNFRD), allowing Collier County EMS (CCEMS) to house an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Transport Ambulance and provide the additional staffing at Station 63 on Interstate I-75. OBJECTIVE: To provide an enhanced level of service for the delivery of pre-hospital care by placing an ALS transport unit and additional staffing at Station 63 on Interstate I-75. CONSIDERATIONS: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) opened the mile marker 63 station in 2014. Greater Naples Fire Rescue District has an ALS Engine located at Station 63. This apparatus is staffed with a combination of three firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics from GNFRD and one paramedic firefighter from Collier County EMS. On June 3, 2025, staff was provided direction by the Board to coordinate with GNFRD on the placement of a transport unit at the mile marker 63 station. The addition of an Advanced Life Support transport unit on Alligator Alley will enhance the delivery of pre-hospital care in Collier County. FISCAL IMPACT: Existing county paramedics will be utilized to staff the ALS transport ambulance. Collier County EMS is responsible for the salaries of its personnel. No rental payments will be required, as the services provided are essential to public safety and emergency response. Funding for this initiative is available in Fund 4050. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This action has no impact on growth management. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed and approved as to form and legality. A majority vote is required for approval. – SAA RECOMMENDATION(S): To approve and authorize the Chair to execute the Interlocal Agreement between the Board of County Commissioners and the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District (GNFRD), for Collier County EMS (CCEMS) to house and provide the additional staffing for an ALS Transport Ambulance at Station 63 on Interstate I-75 to aid in the delivery of pre-hospital care and treatment to the residents and visitors on Interstate I-75.
