Resolution 1992-439 AUGUST lo, 199E RESOLUTION NO. 92-439 A RESOLUTION ORDERING AND CALLING A REFERENDUM ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 3, 1992, TO DETERMINE IF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF COLLIER COUNTY APPROVE THE LEVY OF A 2% TOURIST DEVELOPMENT TAX. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners on August 18, ,,_ f { ;` , 1992, adopted Collier County Ordinance No. 92-60 to levy, impose and set a two percent Tourist Development Tax throughout '. f Collier County pursuant to tlra "Local Option Tourist 4,`;; Development Act", Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes; and f WHEREAS, Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes, provides that 1 ?t Collier County Ordinance No. 92-60 shall not take effect until R r:. the ordinance levying and imposing the tax has been approved in a referendum election by a majority of the electors voting in d.' n such election to be held by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY {; _ COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that `{' .SECTION ONE REFERENDUM ELECTION CALLED A referendum election is hereby ordered and called to be held on November 3, 1992, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in Collier County the following Yt.• question: 4 Shall Collier County Ordinance No. 92-60 be approved to levy, impose and set a two percent Tourist Development Tax on each dollar of the total rent '11` charged on any living quarters or accommodations in any hotel, motel, resort, apartment, roominghouse, mobile home park, recreational vehicle park, or condominium for a term of six months or less for financing beach renourishment and maintenance, and to promote and advertise tourism? SECTION TWO. PERSONS ENTITLED TO VOTE. t;t The persons entitled to vote in the referendum election shall be all the qualified electors residing within Collier County, Florida. .SECTION THREE. POLLING PLACES, ELECTION OFFICIALS AND HOURS OF ELECTION. The election shall be held at the polling places f`' designated in each precinct in Collier County, Florida. Y t. SECTION FIVE. NOTICE OF ELECTION. The Clerk of this Board shall publish a notice of the referendum election in the Naples Daily News, a newspaper of " ." general circulation published in Collier County, Florida. • There shall be at least thirty (30) days notice of said election, with publication to be made at least twice, once in the fifth week and once in the third week prior to the week in which the referendum is to be held.
