Resolution 1980-055[: arch 4, 1980 RESOLUTION NO. 80- 55 RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION TO SUPPORT.PROPOSED SB 62, ,IMPOSING CAPITAL GAINS TAX ON NONRESIDENT ALIENS. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners nas reviewed the proposed legislation-which is being introduced by Senator Dick Anderson; and WHEREAS, said legislation 'presently identified as SB 62 for consideration by the 1980 Legislature provides for the imposing of a tax on certain capital gains of nonresident aliens and for- eign corporations when those entities have been exempt from taxa- tion of capital gains under the U. S. Internal Revenue Code on sale or exchange of capital assets located in Florida; and WHEREAS, this Board recognizes that adoption of such legis- lation will necessitate an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Florida, specifically Article VII, Section 16 on finance and taxation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Collier County Commissioners that we hereby request you to support the SB 62 to ensure its adoption along with the necessary placement of the matter on the November 4, 1980 ballot as an amendment to the Florida Constitution, Article VII, Section 16. Done and ordered this 4th day of March, 1980 while convened in regular session.
