A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO DECLARE A VACANCY ON THE
AIRPORT AUTHORITY ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 2010-11 created the Airport Authority
Advisory Board to assist the Board of County Commissioners with all issues affecting the Marco
Island Executive Airport, Immokalee Regional Airport, and Everglades Airpark; and
WHEREAS, attendance requirements for members of the Airport Authority Advisory
Board are governed by Ordinance No. 2001-55, as amended, or by its successor ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2001-55, as amended, provides that any advisory board
member who is absent for more than one-half of the advisory board's meetings in a given fiscal
year shall be deemed to have tendered his or her resignation from such advisory board, and the
Board of County Commissioners shall, as soon as practicable after such resignation, declare the
position to be vacant; and
WHEREAS, Byron Meade has been absent for six (6) of the first ten (10) Airport
Authority Advisory Board meetings during the current fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Authority Advisory Board is requesting that the Board of
County Commissioners declare the seat held by Byron Meade to be vacant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the seat previously occupied by
Byron Meade is hereby declared to be vacant on the Airport Authority Advisory Board.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this 11th day
of September, 2012.
