A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE TOURIST
DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL BY: 1) APPOINTING MARCO ISLAND
CITY COUNCIL MEMBER GERARD M. GIBSON; 2) AMENDING THE
CATEGORY REPRESENTATION OF CURRENT MEMBER ROBERT A.
MILLER; AND 3) REMOVING EVERGLADES CITY COUNCIL
MEMBER MCBETH COLLINS.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 92-18, established the Tourist Development
Council to advise the Board of County Commissioners (Board) regarding proposed uses of
tourist development tax revenues, effective operation of the special projects or uses of the tourist
development reviews, and to review all expenditures of revenues from the tourist development
trust fund; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 92-18, as most recently amended by Ordinance No. 2012-18,
provides that the Tourist Development Council shall consist of nine (9) members including the
Chairman or designated representative of the Board of County Commissioners, two elected
municipals officials, and individuals involved in the tourist industry as specified in the Ordinance
including one seat reserved for a representative recommended by the governing body of the City
of Everglades City; and
WHEREAS, to meet the revised membership requirements of Ordinance No. 92-18, as
amended, the Board desires to modify the current membership of the Tourist Development
Council as set forth below; and
WHEREAS, the City of Marco Island and the City of Everglades City have provided
their recommendations for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the membership of the Tourist
Development Council is revised as follows:
1.) Marco Island City Council Member GERARD M. GIBSON is hereby appointed
in the category of an elected municipal official (Marco Island) for a term to expire on
April 21, 2016.
2.) ROBERT A. MILLER, is hereby confirmed in the category of a person who has
"demonstrated an interest in tourist development" and has been recommended by the
governing body of the City of Everglades City for a term to expire on April 21, 2015.

3.) MCBETH COLLINS, City Council Member of the City of Everglades City, is
hereby removed from the Tourist Development Council.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 12th
day of June, 2012.
