Resolution 2012-073 RESOLUTION NO. 2012 -73
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, EXTENDING THE TERM OF RICK
MEDWEDEFF, REAPPOINTING MURRAY HENDEL, AND
CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENTS OF MAYOR JOHN SOREY, CITY
OF NAPLES, AND COUNCIL MEMBER MCBETH COLLINS, CITY OF
EVERGLADES CITY,TO THE TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 92-18, established the Tourist Development
Council to advise the Board of County Commissioners regarding proposed uses of tourist
development tax revenues, effective operation of the special projects or uses of the tourist
development reviews, and to review all expenditures of revenues from the tourist development
trust fund; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 92-18, as subsequently amended, provides that the Tourist
Development Council shall consist of nine (9) members including the Chairman or designated
representative of the Board of County Commissioners, two elected municipals officials, and
individuals with interests in the tourist industry as specified in the Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, there are currently vacancies on the Tourist Development Council; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Tourist Development Council, the City of Naples, and the City of
Everglades City have provided the Board of County Commissioners with their recommendations
for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,that:
1. MURRAY HENDEL (non-owner/operator) is hereby reappointed to the Tourist
Development Council to serve a four-year term, said term to expire on April 21,
2016.
2. The appointment of MAYOR JOHN SOREY to the Tourist Development Council by
the City of Naples is hereby confirmed, said term to expire on April 21, 2016.
3. The appointment of COUNCIL MEMBER MCBETH COLLINS to the Tourist
Development Council by the City of Everglades City is hereby confirmed, said term
to expire on April 21, 2016.
4. The term of RICK MEDWEDEFF (owner/operator) on the Tourist Development
Council is hereby extended to May 22, 2012.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 24th
day of April, 2012.
