Public Comment Naples Area Chamber of Commerce ACCREDITED CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMMENTS at the 9 am Tuesday March 7 workshop meeting in the County Commission Chambers (transportation) Naples Area Chamber of commerce, in view of what appears to have been a hiatus in new road construction during the past 24 months, wants the assembled to understand that we endorse and support efforts to improve our current emergent situation. While endorsing acceleration of current road building projects, whether the workday time limits are 16, 20, or 24 hour continuous effort, we ask that the County Commission not lose sight of the longer term out-year projections extending 5, 10 and perhaps even 20 years. Concomitant with the necessity of future planning is the equally vital consideration of revenue source. There must be sufficient capital to enable, at a minimum, purchase of rights-of-way for further expansion and improvement. Have projections on revenue sources revealed any potential shortfalls? Are projections from the current Collier County additional motor gasoline tax sufficient to sustain growth in the outyears? When the current self-imposed additional motor gasoline tax ends,-will the county propose to renew the levy or seek other revenue sources? ADMINISTRATION S. 3620 Tamiami Trail North..
