AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 61-2034
and 6571410, SPEGIAL LA~S OF FLORIDA,
AND SPECIFICALLY SECTION 9 THEREOF;
ESTABLISHING A BUDGET PROCEDURE; PRO-
VIDING FOR BUDGET REVXE~ AND APPROVAL
BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT OKDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUbr~Y COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA
SECTION 1. Pu:s~nt to Article VIII, Section 6(d) and
Article VIII, Section 1 (f) of the Constitution of the State of
Florida of 1968, and H. B. 235 of the 1969 Legislature, Section
9 of Chapter 61-203~ and 65-1410, Special Laws of Florida, is
amended to read:
SECTION 9. Upon receipt of such estimate and certificate
of posting, the said board of county commissioners may amend,
modify, increase or reduce any or all items of expenditure in
the proposed estimate or budget, and, as amended, modified,
increased, or reduded, shalt approve said budget or estimate,
giving written notice of their action to the Fire Control
District Board specifying in such notice the specific items
so amended, modified, increased or reduced. At the time of
making and fixing the rate of ann~l taxation for county pur-
poses, the Board of County Commissioners Shall fix and came
Co be levied on all property within said district, both real
and personal and subject to taxation, a millage sufficient to.
meet the requirements of the budget or estimate, provided,
howeve=, the total millage shall not exceed one and one-
fou=th (1~) mills in any one fiscal yea~.
SEOTION 2. This O~dinance shall take effect upon
=eceipt by the Boa=d of County Commiaaione~a of Collie~ County
of official acknowledgment f~om the office of the Sec~eta=y of
State that it has been filed.
