BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNT~ COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 2, of Chapter 67-1233 is amended to
read:
"Section 2. The Board of County Commissiones of Collier
County is here~y authorized to adopt or amend a building code to
provide for the safe construction, erection, alteration, repair,
use and occupancy of any building, structure or premises and the
establishment of minimum building elevations within the area
embraced within this act. Said board may adopt the Southern
Standard Building Code with hurricane provisions, or the South
Florida Building Code. Upon a determination to so adopt or amend
a building code by a majority of the board of county commissioners
of Collier County, the said Board shall call a public hearing not
more than sixty days from the date of such determination. Notice
of such public hearing ~hall be published once at least fifteen
days prior to the hearing in a newspaper of general circulation
published in Collier County, and said notice shall contain the
time, date and place of said public hearing. At said hearing the
board shall hear and consider all interested parties. Thereafter
at any regular or special meeting of the board of county commis-
sioners of Collier County, the board may amend its building code
consistent with the terms and purposes of this act, The code may
be known as the Collier County building code. Upon adoption, or
amendment, the said code shall be in £ull force and e££ect through-
out the area embraced by the terms o£ this act."
