RESOLUTION NO. 2011-179
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
REAPPOINTING MELISSA AHERN AND BARRY M.
KLEIN AND APPOINTING PHILLIP E. BROUGHAM TO
THE COLLIER COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, on May 26,2009, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance
No. 2009-29, which relocated and readopted the Planning Commission Ordinance in its entirety
as a stand-alone ordinance in the Collier County Code of Laws and Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2009-29, as amended, provides that the Planning
Commission shall be composed of nine voting members representing the County's Commission
Districts as set forth in the Ordinance, plus one non-voting member appointed by the School
District; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2009-29, as amended, also provides that candidates for the
Planning Commission must be nominated by the Commissioner of the District in which the
candidate resides for both initial and subsequent terms; and
WHEREAS, on October 1, 2011, there will be vacancies on the Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the appointments to the Collier
County Planning Commission are as follows:
1. PHILLIP E. BROUGHAM, representing District 1, is hereby appointed for a
four-year term, said term to expire on October 1,2015.
2. BARRY M. KLEIN, representing District 3, is hereby reappointed for a four-year
term, said term to expire on October 1,2015.
3. MELISSA AHERN, representing District 4, is hereby reappointed for a four-year
term, said term to expire on October 1,2015.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 27th
day of September, 2011.
