Ordinance 76-44ORDINANCE NO. 76- ~f~ AN ORDI1TANCE A/lENDING THE COLLIER COUNTY BUILDING CODE ORDINA~CE NO. 73-2, I'~{ICH INCORPORATES THE' SOUTHERN STAMDARD BUILDING CODE BY REFERENCE, BY REVISION OF SUB- SECTION (b) OF SECTIOn; 107.4 OF TIIE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE, ADOPTED BY PREVIOUS ORDINANCE 73-2, TO INCREASE THE BASE OF CONSTRUCTION COSTS FOR DETER- MINING BUILDING FEES AND TO SPECIFY TIlE BASES FOR FEE APPLICABLE TO SEAWALLS AND SWI.W~MING POOLS, AND PROVIDING CONFLICT CONSTRUCTION AND SEVERANCE CLAUSES AND PROVIDING A/~ EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY TIIE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA: SECTION ONE: That Subsection (b) of Section 107.4 of the "Southern Standard Building Code" adopted as the "Collier County Building Code" be and is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 107.4 Schedule of Feesf Permit (b) (1) The .amount of foe for a building permit, and the accompanying building inspections, shall be based: a) (c) Upon the cost of construction as demonstrated by construction contract which shall be filed with the Building Department, or Upon the square footage of the construction, as follows: 1) $~=08 $18.00 per square foot for ling ~- '1~ area; ~.~ , - 2) $ 6=88 $12.00 per square foot for gar~es,~ ~T~ carports, porches, utulity rooms, was~-~ -~ rooms, work shops, and swimming pools~ :~ ~ 3) $1.50 per' square foot for screened ar~eas; or Upon the lineal footage of the construction as per construction contract as follows: 1) $20.00 per lineal foot for a riprap seawall; 2) $35.00 per lineal foot for a vertical seawall; or (2) Where the amount of fec for a building permit is to be based upon the cost of construction, the fee shall be determined by reference to the following schedule: a) 5e~s than $51.00 - No ~ee b) $51.00 through $500.00 - ~ Pea of $5.00 c) $501.00 through $~,000.00 - ~ Fee of $10.00 d) $2,001.00 through $50,000 - ~ Fee of $10.00 plus $4.00 per thousand dollars of bu£1din~ valuation in excess of $2,000.00 e) $50,001 through $1,000,000 - ~ Pee of $202.00 plus $2.00 per thousand dollars of building valuation in excess of $50,000 f) Over $1,000,000 - Fee $2,102.00 plus $2.00 per thousand dollars of building valuation in excess of $1,000,000. g) To move a building, sign or structure - A fee of $25.00 h) To move a single trailer, or mobile home, to an approved area - A Fee of $10.00, $20.00 if a double wide. . i) Demolition of a building - A Fee of $5.00 j) Any additional inspections of any type required due to the Job not being ready for in- spection shall result in an additional fee of $5.00 for the first recall, $10.00 for the second recall and $15.00 for the third and each successive recall. SECTION TWO: Construction. The provisions of this Ordinance shall be liberally construed to effectively carry out its purposes in the interest of the public health, safety, welfare and convenience. Conflict. In the event this Ordinance conflicts with any other ordinance of Collier County or other applicable law the more restrictive shall apply. Severance. If any phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, ~uch portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect upon rece£pt of notice that it has been filed with the Secretary of State.
