AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COLLIER COUNTY
ORDINANCE NO. 76-68, THE COLLIER
COUNTY BUILDING CODE BY AMENDING
SECTION TWO, PARAGRAPH D. OF SAID
CODE RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF
BUILDING PERMITS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLf. IER COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTIOH ONE: SECTION TWO, Paragraph D. is hereby amended to
read as follows:
D. Section 107.2. Failure to obtain a permit.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to commence
any construction, alteration or repair for which a permit is,
required or cause to be commenced any such eonstr~tioj%,
alteration or repair on any structure prior to ob~J g
such building permit.

(b) Where said work is commenced before a pe~n~-is
obtained, the Building Official may, in his discre~,
issue a building permit by assessing a fee of four times the
normal permit fee, but in no case shall the fee be less than
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). In addition, the Building
Official may, cause or order such tests or inspections of
the structure already constructed, altered or repaired a~m~e ~,

may, in his discretion, determine to be necessary to ins~ ~.,
that the requirements of this Ordinance, or any other
ordinance establishing standards for construction, have ~n ~
met., and the applicant for the permit shall beer all cos~ ~
of such tests or inspections.
(c) Any person aggrieved by this Section may appeal as
provided herein.
SECTION TWO: Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon receipt of notice
from the Secretary of State that it has been filed with the
Secretary of State.
