AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE A~NDING COLLIER COUNTY ORDINANCE
'NO. 78-24 BY AMENDING SECTION THREE THEREOF TO EXCEPT
FROM THE PROHIBITION OF SMOKING IN SPECIFIED PUBLIC
PLACES DESCRIBED THEREIN SNACK BARS OR CAFETERIAS IN
GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance t7o. 78-24 prohibits smoking
in areas of government buildings to which the general public has
usual access, and ~- co
WHEREAS, said prohibition is deemed by this Bo~_~to be
~fair and unduly oppressive on those employees wh~ to ~o~
in the small "Snack Shop" provided ~n the County C~ouse= m
Complex for the use of employees, and
~EREAS, this Board deems the continuing moral welfare and
well being of its employees to be of paramount concern in the
rendering of efficient public service by these employees to
members of the public;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION ONE
Section Three, Subparagraph (1) of Collier County Ordinance
No. 78-24 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(1)
SECTION TWO
The Board of County Conunissioners hereby waives notic~

general public has usual access. Except that
this prohibition shall not apply to cafeterias,~
snack bars, coffee shops, or similar area~
provided for the convenience of employees~nd
the general public in government building~
Said areas shall be subject to the restri~ions~
contained in Section Four herein.

necessitating the immediate enactment of this Ordinance. The
Clerk of the Board shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance
with the Department of State as soon after its enactment as is
practicable by registered, special delivery mail. This Ordinance
shall become effective upon being accepted by the postal authority
