BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY~ FLORIDA~ that; SECTION ONE: Section Three of Collle~' County Ordinance No. 78-8 is amended to read as follows: SECTION THREE - METERS~ TAPPING. CHARGES A) Meter tapping charges are based on work being done In locations where soll conditlons, ground water levels and accesslbllity are all those normally encountered throughout the County Water-Sewa~ District and which require no special or extraordlnary amounts or type of labor, equipment and materials to accomplish the !nstallation. At those locations where unusual soil conditions or abnormal ground water levels and conditions or severe accessibility restrlctlons are encountered the charge for Installation of a meter shall be based on the cost of labor, materials, equipment and admlnlstratlva charges resultlng from such Installations. Meter tapping charges In locations where normal working conditions exist shall be as follows: Meter Size Meter Tapping Charge 5/8" $200.00 ~ 3/4" $220. O0 := 1" $270.00 ~ I 1/4" $315.00 '",1 ~ , 1 1/2" $365.00 ~ 2" $500.00 B) For meters' larger than two (2) Inches, the tapping charge shall be based on materials and labor costs at the tlme of Installation. C) All necessary meters will be furnished by the County and shall remain the property of the County, D) Meters must be left accessible to County employees at all times. E) When any customer~ who has s water' mster~ makes application to the Utility DIvislon for the Installation of al larger meter to replace his smaller meter~ he shall be given credit for' the tapping charges paid on the smaller meter in accordance with the above schedule. There shall be no refunds or credits given to any customer requesting s smaller meter. SECTION TWO: Sactlon Five of Collier County Ordlnance 78-8 Is amended to read as follows: SECTION FIVE - RATES A) The rates for service shall be as set forth hereln. Said rates are hereby found to be fair and equitable and may be changed by ordinance amending the Rate Schedule. B) Rates charged by the County Utility Dlvlsion for water fur- nished to customers within the Countyes Service Area shall be as follows: (1) Single-Family Residence: First 3,000 gallons; $4.50 per month. For all water used In excess of that allowed within the mlnlmum chargs~ the rate shall be $0.75 per 1,000 gallons. (2) Multl-Famlly Residence: (a) Duplex Residences - First 6t000 gallons or' any par1: thereof $9.00 per month. For all water in excess of that allowed within the minimum charger the rate shall be $.075 per 1,000 gallons. (b) Multi-Family Rental Apartments: Fir'st 3,000 gallons or' any part ther'eof $3.90 per' month per' apartment or' dwelling unit. For' all water used in excess of that allowed within the minimum charge~ the rate shall be $0.75 per 1/000 gallons. (c) Condominiums: First 3,000 gallons or any part thereof $4.90 per month par apartment or' dwelling unit. For all water' In excess of that allowed wlthln the min- imum charge, the rate shall be $0.75 per 1,000 gallons. (3) Business and Institutions: First 3,000 gallons or any part thereof $4.50 per month. For all water, used In excess of that allowed within the minimum charge, the rate shall be $0.75 per 1~000 gallons. SECTION THREE - CONFLICT AND ~.EV. ERABILITY In the event this Ordlnance conflicts wlth any other ordinance of Collier County or other applicable laws~ the more restMctive shall apply. If any phrase or portion of thls Ordinance Is held Invalid or unconstitutional by any court of compatant'..jurlsdictlon~ such portion shall ba deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion. SECTION FOUR - EFFECTIVE DATE This Ordinance shall take effect upon receipt of notice that It has been filed with the Secretary of State..
