It has truly been a pleasure to serve alongside other Taxpayers and Volunteers in this position for over 5 years. As the Committee's Gordon River Greenway representative, Member of two Subcommittees, and further back, the creator of the Conservation Collier program logo,I do believe that I have contributed to the program but leave on a bittersweet note. I,as a taxpayer, believe that our work is not finished, that we may have contributed to Staff time cost/savings (as mentioned at the last CCLAAC meeting regarding the ICSR site production) versus being a "constraint"to Staff (as cited in a recent recommendation by Staff to sunset the Program),and could continually contribute to Objective evaluation of: policy items (related to the LDC), openly vetting parcels (acquisition, donation), and in the Public's best interest; however, Recent developments from the Staff and Commission level, Professional/Personal time constraints, and a genuine sense of completion of the prior mentioned items, create a perfect time to allow for my departure from the CCLAAC. I am copying Bill Poteet, Chairman of the CCLAAC, in a one way transmission only,to alert him of fr this development. I believe the contents of this letter, specifically my resignation from the Committee, create absolutely no violation of the Sunshine Law. Best of luck to you, other program Staff, and the remaining members of the CCLAAC, as the transition period moves forward. In light of the June 19th letter from the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Collier County Audubon Society, Florida Wildlife Federation, Southwest Florida Land Preservation Trust, and 2002 Vote Conservation Collier organizations, I look forward to participating in future discussions and public meetings regarding the Program, as the Collier Commission considers the Conservation Collier program. Sincerely, Jeffrey S.Curl ASLA CLARB Of 14, AZ400450 4010 8th Avenue S.E.+Naples,FL 34117 i c.239.272.7933 p./f.239304.0958 www.emergedesign biz
