RESOLUTION NO. 92-~
A RBSOLUTION RBCOKKBOCDING TO THB GOVERNOR OF THB
STATE OF FLORIDA APPOIHTXEHTS TO THE CHILDREN'S
SERVICES COUNCIL OF COLLIER COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board ot County Commissioners on July 31, 1990
adopted Collier County Ordinance No. 90-~4 creating the Children's
Services Council of Collier County, pursuant to section 125.901,
Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 90-64 provides that the
Children's Services Council of Collier county shall consist ot ten
(10) members with five (5) of the ten (10) ~embers being appointed
by the Governor for terms of four years each; and
WHEREAS, one (1) of the ten (10) members of the Children's
Services Council of Collier County shall be a member of the Board
of County Commissioners as selected by the Chairman of the Board
of county Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Richard Shanahan who was designated by
the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners to serve on the
Children's Services council of Collier county has indicated that
he is resigning as a member of the Children's Services Council of
Collier county; and
WHEREAS, currently there are two (2) vacancies among the (5)
members appointed by the Governor to the Children's Services
Council of Collier County due t:o the resignation of John Passidomo
and the expiration of Mary Ellen zumFelde's term; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance no. 90-'64 permits the Board of county
commissioners to submit three names for consideration by the
Governor for each vacancy; and
WHEREAS, public notice soliciting applications from
interested parties was provided by the Children's Services Council
of Collier County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the following
applicants are hereby recommended to the Governor ot the State of
Florida for consideration to appoint two (2) members to serve on

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Burt L. Saunders, County
Commissioner is hereby appointed to the Children's Services
Council of Collier County to replace County Commissioner, Richard
Shanahan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk is hereby directed to
mail a certified copy of this Resolution to the Governor's Office,
Appointments Director, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida
32399-0001.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority
vote.
