'" COM~LY WITH STATE REQUIREMENTS; AND BY '~' ;' iPROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida SECTION ONE: Section 8.29 of the Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows: ********************* 8.29 Off-street Parking Spaces Required for Disabled Persona: a. PUBLICLY OPERATED OR MAINTAINED BUILDINGS: ar ~{1). One (1) space in the immediate vicinity of a building maintained and operated with public funds and intended for use by the public; including, but not limited to, state office buildings, courthouses, rehabilitation centers, and hospitals; except a minimum of e½~ee-{~) four (4) spaces shall be provided et physical restoration rehabilitation centers. bT (27. One (1) space for each ~gg 150 metered on-street or publicly maintained and operated parking lot spaces. b. PRIVATELY OPERATED OR MAINTAINED BUILDINGS OR BUSINESSES: (17. Any business, firm, corporation~person or other entity, except as provided for in paragraph a above, which operates or msintains a building which is used by the public or to which the public has access shall provide specially designed and marked motor vehicle parking spaces for the exclusive use of physically disabled persons who have been issued parkin~ permits pursuant to Section 320.0848 Florida Statutes. (2}. A parking lot servicing any building or entrance pathway to a bulldin~ shall have a number of level parking spaces, as set forth in the followin~ table~ identified by above-~rade s.i~ns, as provided in Section c{4} below, as bein~ reserved for physically handicapped persons. All spaces shall have accessible thereto a curb-ramp or curb-cut, when necessary to allow access to the building served, and shall be located so that users will not be compelled to wheel behind parked vehicles. .(2). Diagonal or perpendicular parking spaces shall be a minimum of twelve (12) i~:z wide. Curbs adjacent to such spaces shall be of a height which will not interfere with the opening and closing of motor vehicle doors. SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall become effective upon notice that it has been filed with the Secretary of State.
