Ordinance 87-040 ORDINANCE 87- 40 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 82-2, THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF COLLIER COUNTY BY AMENDING SECTION 8.31, SIGNS, SUBSECTION d., PERMITS AND FEES AND EXEMPTIONS, PARAGRAPH 3)(g) TO SET THE M~AXIMUM SQUARE FEET OF "FOR SALE" OR "FOR RENT" SIGNS TO SIXTEEN SQUARE FEET IN THE ESTATES DISTRICTS; AMENDING SECTION 8.8, PARKING AND STORAGE OF CERTAIN VEHICLES, TO SET STANDARDS FOR THE ESTATES DISTRICTS; BY PRO- VIDING A DATE FOR INITIATION OF ENFORCEMENT OF SECTION 8.8.h.~ AND BY PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on November 14, 1986, the Board of County Commissioners after consideration of s request to ma~e numerous changes to the Estates district, directed staff to prepare the necessary Zoning Ordinance amendments in accord with the request; and WHEREAS, the staff prepared the Zoning Ordinance amendments and advertised them for public hearings as required by law before the Collier County Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Planning Co~isaion held their duly scheduled public hearing on May 7, 1987, at which time they considered the recommendations of staff and ~nput from the public; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners at their duly scheduled public hearing on May 26, 1987, considered the recommendations of staff, input from the public sod the recommendations of the Collier County Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Co~missioners encouraged t~e residents of Golden Gate Estates to organize a citizens group to coordinate a semi-annual clean-up; and k~EREAS, the Board of Co~ty Con~issioners encou%aged residents desiring more stringent controls to petition the Boar~ for the more restrictive parking of commercial and recreation ve~icle overlay as provided in the Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, in the interest of the public health, safety and welfare, the Board of County Commissioners found that abandoned vehicles, which are vehicles without current license tags, should b~ parked in the rear of the house and that residents should have six months to comply with the parking of the vehicle in the rear of the yard. NOW, TIIEREPORE BE IT ORDATNED by the Board of County Comissionars of Collier County, Florida: SECTION ONE: Section 8.31, Signs, Subsection 8.31.d., Permits and Fees and Exemptions, Paragraph 3)(g) of Ordinance 82-2, the Zoning Ordinance of Collier County, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: (g) One ground or wall "For Sale" of "For Rent" sign per parcel or property when such sign has an area per face of not more than forty (k0) square feet, except in RSF Districts where the maximum shall be four (4) square feet and except in the Estates Districts where the maximum shall be sixteen (16) square feet. Such sign shall not be located within fifteen.(15) feet of any property line except in commercial or industrial districts. SECTION TWO: Section 8.8, Parking and Storage of certain Vehicles, of Ordinance 82-2, the Zoning Ordinance of Collier County, Florida is hereby amended as follows: ' Automotive vehicles or trailer of any type without current license plates where required by law shall not be parked or stored on any residentially zoned property other than in completely enclosed buildings. Automotive vehicles or trailer .of any. type without current license plates where required BY law shall not be parked or stored on any. estates zoned property other than in completely enclosed buildings or in the rear yard.. SECTION THREE: Enforcement of Section 8.8.b. shall begin November 26, 1987, six months from approval of this Ordinance, to allow sufficient time for residents to move an abandoned vehicle to the rear yard or to an enclosed structure. SECTION FOUR: ~ This Ordinance shall become effective upon notice that it has been received by the Office of the Secretary of State.
