AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.
79-17 WHICH CREATED THE GOODLAND
MUNICIPAL FIRE DISTRICT AS A
DEPENDENT DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICT AND SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida, adopted Ordinance No. 79-17 on March 6, 1979
creating the Goodland Municipal Fire District as a special
purpose district; and
W~EREAS, Special Act 79-444, Laws of Florida, amended the
boundaries of the Marco Island Fire Control District to include
the lands known as Goodland; and
WHEREAS, the Dependent District created by County Ordinance
No. 79-17 is as a consequence no longer applicable or necessary;
and
WHEP~AS, the Board of County Commissioners finds it
appropriate and in the best interests of the citizens of Collier
County to repeal Ordinance No. 79-17.
NOW, ~EREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C~3NTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
SECTION ONE: Repeal of Ordinance No. 79-17 -
Collier County Ordinance No. 79-17 which created ~he
Goodland Municipal Fire District as a special purpose"distriCt
under Chapter 125.01(q), Florida Statutes, is hereby repealed in
its entirety.
SECTION TWO: Conflict and Severabilit¥
In the event this Ordinance conflicts with any other
ordinance of Collier County or other applicable law, the more
restrictive shall apply. If any phrase or portion of this
Ordinance is held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate,
distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion.
SECTION THREE: Effective Date
This Ordinance shall become effective upon receipt of notice
from the Secretary of State that this Ordinance has been filed
with the Secretary of State.
