RESOLUTION NO. 2010 -117
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING RONALD GILMER GILBERT TO
THE OCHOPEE FIRE DISTRICT ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 89-98 crcated the Ochopee Fire District Advisory
Board to advise the Board of County Commissioners (Board) on the budget and operation of the
Ochopee Fire Control District; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 89-98, provides that this Advisory Board shall be composed of five
members who are permanent residents of the District as set forth in the Ordinance, one of whom is
recommended by the Mayor of Everglades City; and
WHEREAS, there is currently one vacant, unexpired term on this Advisory Board for a
representative of Chokoloskee; and
WHEREAS, the Board previously provided public notice soliciting applications from interested
parties; and
WHEREAS, the Ochopee Fire District Advisory Board has provided the Board with its
recommendations for appointment; and
WHEREAS, the Board recognizes that the applicant is a permanent resident of the District but not
a resident of Chokoloskee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that RONALD GILMER GILBERT is hereby appointed to the
Oehopee Fire District Advisory Board to fulfill the remainder of this unexpired term, said term to
expire on December 30, 2010.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for this appointment, the Board of County Commissioners
hereby waives the provision of Ordinance No. 89-98 requiring a representative of Chokoloskee.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 8th day of
June, 2010.
