Resolution 1979-034 BOCK 645 PACE 603 February 27, 1979 A RESOLUTION DECLARING A NEED FOR AN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO FUNCTION IN COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA AND APPOINTING THE SAME WHEREAS, there has been created in Collier County, Florida, a public body, corporate and politic, known as the "Collier County Industrial Development Authority" by virtue of Chapter 159, Part III, Florida Statutes ; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Industrial Development Authority, by virtue of said statute, is not permitted to transact any business or exercise any authority until and unless the County Commission in Collier County declares , by proper resolution, that there is a need for such an authority in Collier County; and WHEREAS, after considering various studies and reports of the Economic Development Council of Collier County, which studies and reports show a need for greater diversification of the economic base of our community, the Commission has determined, upon its own motion, and does by these presents determine that there is a need for an industrial development authority in Collier County, Florida. • NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED: 1. That there is a need for an industrial development authority to function in Collier County, Florida, and accor- dingly, the COLLIER COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY be, and is hereby authorized and empowered to transact any and all business and to exercise any and all powers so authorized by law for an industrial development authority as set forth in Chapter 159, Part III , Florida Statutes ; and 2. That, an required by law, the following persons , each of whom are residents and electors of Collier County, Florida, be and are hereby designated and appointed to serve as the first members of the COLLIER COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, for the following term of years, or until their February 27, 1979 respective successors are appointed and qualified: For a term of four years : Ralph E. Carter and William' J. Ryan For a term of three years: Walter R. Rogers For a term of two years : Arthur Ford For a term of one year: Norman Herren 3. Collier County Resolution R-78-94, dated June 13, 1978 is hereby rescinded.
