P~cords of Collier Oounty, Florida; all being a part of Section 35,
Tcwrmhip 49 South, Range 25 East, Collier County, Florida, containtr~
111.902 acres.
The governing body of the Unit shall be ex-officio the Board of County
Omnisalc~ers of Collier County, Florida.
Section Three: Puroos~;
The Unit is formed for the purpose of pr~vid/ng ~t lighting in the
above-described taxing unit and to that end shall possess all the powers to do
all things reasor~ably nece?~3ry to provide such services, incl,~{ng ownership
or r~Ttal of property, poles, wires, oor~uits, lights, metar~, and the power to
maintain the same and to enter into contracts for providing the same and the
electric current to operate any lighting system therein installed.
~ecti~ Four: ~ Estimates of E~e~es; Taxation Rate.
For the purpose of carrying into effect t3xis Ordinance, the Board of
County Cc~nissioners shall annually, at the tin~ required by general budgetary
law, make an itemized estimate of the amount of money r~quir~d to carry out the
business of the Unit for the next fiscal year, which shall be from October 1 to
and including September 30 following. ~lu ~stimato ~hall hnvo for ~mt purpo~
the rxx~ys are required and the amount necessary to be raised by taxation
within the Unit. At the time and place for fixing the annual rate of taxation
for O=unty purposes, the Board shall fix and cause to be levied on all property
within the Unit ~ubject to taxmtion a millage sufficient to meet the
r~ of the ~timatm; provided, however, the ~=tal millage shall not
~ the millage authorized by law for ~ntcipal ~_rvioe taxing or benefit
~]~c~ion Five: T~ Assessment an40ollection.
Taxes herein provided for shall be assessed and collected in the same
mar~,r and form as provided for the assessment and oollection of general C~unty
taxes and subject to the sam~ fees for assessing and collecting am
~hia Ordinance shall be liberally construed to aff~uat~ ira public
purpose.
