RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - 20
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, REAPPOINTING JAMES W. SIMMONS AND
JOHN PENNELL AND APPOINTING TOD JOHNSON TO THE OCHOPEE FIRE
DISTRICT ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, on December 19, 1989, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No.
89-98 creating the Ochopee Fire District Advisory Board to advise the Board on the budget and
operation of the Ochopee Fire Control District; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 89-98, provides that this Advisory Broad shall be composed of five
members who are permanent residents of the District as set forth in the Ordinance, one of whom is
recommended by the Mayor of Everglades City; and
WHEREAS, there are currently three vacancies on this Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice soliciting
applications from interestcd parties; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of Everglades City and the Ochopee Fire District Advisory Board have
provided the Board of County Commissioners with their recommendations for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the appointments to the Ochopee Fire District Advisory
Board are as follows:
1. JAMES W. SIMMONS, Port of the Islands, is hereby reappointed for a two-year term,
said term to expire on December 31, 2011.
2. JOI-IN PENNELL, Plantation Island, is hereby reappointed for a two-year term, said term
to expire on December 31. 2011.
3. TOD JOHNSON, recommended by the Mayor of Everglades City, is hereby appointed for
a two-year term, said term to expire December 31,2011.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 26th day of
January, 2010..
