RESOLUTION NO. 2009- 277
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING WILLIAM C.
SHAFER TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 93-81, as amended, established the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board to advise the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the
acquisition, development and programs involving County park facilities; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 93-81, as amended, provides that this Advisory Board shall be
composed of seven members consisting of one member from the Immokalee Community Park
District and six members from the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District; and
WHEREAS, with the resignation of Paul Nice, there is currcntly a vacancy on the
Advisory Board in the category of Naples and Urban Area Community Park District; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Rccreation Advisory Board has provided the Board of County
Commissioners with its rccommendation for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that WILLIAM C. SHAFER,
representing the Naples and Urban Area Community Park District, is hereby appointed to the
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to fulfill the remainder of this vacant term plus one four-
year term, said term to expire on December 31,2013.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 10th
day ofNovember,.2009.
