RESOLUTION NO. 2009-245
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING ILEANA M.
RAMOS, MARIO ORTIZ AND ALEJANDRO BALAN TO THE
COLLIER COUNTY HISPANIC AFFAIRS ADVISORY BOARD.
WHEREAS, on May 14, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) adopted
Ordinance No. 91-37, as subsequently amended, which established the Hispanic Affairs
Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board provides periodic reports to the Board
that identify and evaluate problems unique to the Hispanic community and recommends ways to
ensure open communication between minorities and Collier County Government; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 91-37, as amended, provides that the Advisory Board shall
consist of nine (9) members; and
WHEREAS, there are currently three vacancies on this Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board has provided the Board of County
Commissioners with its recommendations for appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that ILEANA M. RAMOS, MARIO
ORTIZ and ALEJANDRO BALAN are hereby appointed to the Collier County Hispanic Affairs
Advisory Board to serve four-year terms, said terms to expire June 25, 2013.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion, second and majority vote on this the 13th
day of October, 2009.
