RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST FUND TO
ESTABLISH AN EROSION CONTROL LINE IN THE
VANDERBILT BEACH AREA, PARK SHORE AREA AND
NAPLES BEACH AREA ALONG THE COLLIER COUNTY
SHORELINE.
WHEREAS, it has been established by surveys that there is a
serious shoreline erosion problem in Collier County; and
WHEREAS, It has been deemed to be in the public interest to
preserve, mai~:ain and restore wherever possible, the
recreational, storm protection environmental and native habitat,
and economic benefits; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners h. \s authorized
Coastal Engineering Consultant~, Inc., to prepare final design
plans and specifications and obtain permits to accomplish
restoration of the shoreline; and
WHEREAS, the establishmen~ and platting of an Erosion Control
Line is a necessary part of th -, final design procl!ss.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES .'LVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNT~, FLORIDA, that: The County
requests the Board of Trustees of the Internal Imnrovement Trust
Fund to establish an Erosion control Line in the ':anderbilt Beach
Area, Park Shore Area, and Nap.es Beach Area alon"! the Collier
County shorelinrJ as described y the mean high wa -er survey
performed by Coastal Engineerig Consultants, Inc , on
February 1, 1995.
This Resol'ltion adopted after motion, second and majority
vote.
