A Rr.SOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE
SECOND GORDON RIVER BRIDGE FACT SHEET AND
THE EXPENDITURE OF COUNTY FUNDS FOR THE PRINTING
OF f.AID FACT SHEET TO BE SENT TO ALL 'l'HE REGISTERED
VOTlRS IN COLLIER COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners on June 20, 1995,
after public hearinq adopted Collier County Ordinance No. 95-43,
relatinq to a one percent Local Government InfraE-tructure
Discretionary Sales Surtax to fund a second Gordon River bridqe
project; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9~-43 and Section 21=.055, Florida
Statutes, req\.ire a referendUl' election on the l~vy ot the
additional onf'l percent sales r. 'Jrtax; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County COJlUllissioners on June 20, 1995,
adopted a Resolution orderinq and callinq a refelendum election by
mail ballot to be held on September 26, 1995 witl'in Collier County
to determine it. the qualified .tlectors approve ai, additional one
percent local qovernment infrt 'Jtructure sales surtax tor a period
not to exceed nine months, cor lencing January 1, 1996 and ending
September 3~, 1996, to fund a second Gordon River bridge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD .)P COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OP COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1) The Board hereby fin( , that the distribu':ion to all
qualified votel'S of Collier C, mty of factual inf .)rmation is in
the best public interests of i 1e citizens ot Coll~er County.
2) The Board hereby finds that the question~ and answers set
forth in the attached Fact Sheet appropriately ed~cate the
citizenry in a (air and impart,tal manner regardiDJ facts relating
to the referendum ballot quest~on on the additional one percent
surtax (sales tax) to fund the proposed second GOt~on River bridge
project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:
1) The BI '1rd hereby apprnves the Second Gordon River Bridqe
Fact Sheet in substantially thl form provided in Exhibit "A"
