RESOLUTION NO. 93-202
RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING AND APPOINTING
MEMBERS TO THE SOUTHWEST FLORIDA PRIVATE
INDUSTRY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, The Job Training Partnership Act requires that the
local elected officials appoint members to the Private Industry
council trom a slate nominated by the local Chambers of Commerce
and other agencies required to be represented on the Private
Industry Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the 1983 agreement between tha County
Commissions ot Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties, the
Collier County Board of County Commissioners was designated as the
appointing agency tor the Private Industry Council for Service
Delivery Area 120 which includes COllier, Charlotte, Hendry and
Glades counties; and
WHEREAS, the Private Industry Council is composed of 22
aembers representing the private sector, education, organized
labor, rehabilitation facilities, community based organizations,
economic development and public employment service; and
WHEREAS, the terms ot eight (8) members of the Southwest
Florida Private Industry council JTPA Service Delivery Area 120
will expire on June 30, 1993; and
WHEREAS, there is one (1) vacancy on the Southwest Florida
Private Industry council JTPA service Delivery Area 120; and
WHEREAS, nominations to the Southwest Florida Private
Industry council JTPA service Delivery Area #20 have been received
by the. Executive Director of the Southwest Florida Priv.ate.
Industry Council JTPA service Delivery Area 120; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director has recommended to the Board
of County Commissioners the reappointment of six (6) members for
three year terms, the appointment of two (2) members for three
year terms and the appointment of one (1) member to fulfill the
remainder of a vacant term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, \\1at:

1) The fOllowing members be reappointed to the Southwest
Florida Private Industry Council JTPA service Delivery Area 120
for three (3) year terms, said terms commencing on July 1, 1993
and expiring on June 30, 1996:
Ed Gauthier, nominated by state Department of Health and
Rehabilitative Services
Robert Allen, nominated by Charlotte County Chamber of
Commerce
Philip Keyes, nominated by Glades County Chamber of Commerce
Don VanDerbaan, nominated by Hendry County Chamber of
Commerce
Ed Magero, nominated by Collier County School Board
Tim Nevarez, nominated by Florida Department of Labor
2) The following members be appointed to the Southwest
Florida Private Industry Council JTPA Service Delivery Area 120
for three (3) year terms, said terms commencing on July 1, 1993
and expiring on June 30, 1996:
Cynthia O'Connor, nominated by Naples Area Chamber of
Commerce
Carl Hankins, nominated by International Association ot
Machinist and Aerospace Workers
3) Melinda Paniagua Riddle is hereby appointed to the
Southwest Florida Private Industry Council JTPA service Delivery
Area 120 to fill the vacancy, said term expiring on June 30, 1995.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority
vote. .
