RESOLUTION NO. 94-457
A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE
EXPENDITURE OP COUNTY FUNDS FOR PREVIOUS
AND FUTURE PISCAL YEAR 1994 COLLIER COUNTY
PUBLIC ASSISTANCE LINE, KANDU, ACTIVITIES
AND FINDING AND DECLARING THAT SAID
EXPENDITURES ARE AUTHORIZED AS SERVING A
VALID PUBLIC PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed
that it is Collier County Government's goal to provide the best
.ervic8 and assistance to members of the community; and
WHEREAS, a Public Assistance Line (PAL) KANDU has been
developed to provide service and assistance; and
WHEREAS, expenditures in the form of advertising and
pro.otional materials are incurred to provide the Public
As.istance Line; and
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 87-5 allows for
expenditures of County funds to enhance County employee
productivity, and to promote and engender good will toward
COUnty government within the community, provided that the Board
of County Commissioners adopts or has adopted an implementing
re.olution .etting forth the specific purposes of the

expenditures; and
WHEREAS, on Kay 17, 1994 the Board of County Commissioners
proclaimed Collier County's Public Assistance Line, KANDU, is
available to serve the citizens of Collier County; and costs in
the approximate amount of $363.65 were incurred for advertising
and promotional materials; and
WHEREAS, said costs will continue to be incurred during
!'i.cal Year 1994 while the Collier County Public Assistance
Line is in operation; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Clerk of Courts has conferred
with the County Attorney's ottice regarding the need tor
clarification about the specific expenditures for Fiscal Year
1994 Public Assistance, KANDO and whether such expenditures are
a valid public purpose, even if the expenditures are not
covered by the exact expenditure categories set forth in
Ordinance No. 87-5.

NOW 'l'HEREPORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OP COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OP COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The expenditures in the amount ot $363.65 for the
Collier County Government Public As.i.tance Line, RANDO,
proclaimed to be in operation by the Board of County
C~issioners on Kay 17, 1994 are hereby found by the Board to
..rve a valid public purpose and are ratified and approved.
The specific expenditures ratified and approved are advertising
and promotional materials. The Board hereby authorizes the
disbursement of approximately $363.65 to pay for said
expenditures.
2. The Board further finds that for the future Fiscal
Year 1994 operation of the" Collier County Government Public
Assistance Line, KANDU, expenditures of approximately $1,300.00
tor advertising and promotional materials s~~e the valid
public purpose of providing the best service and assistance to
.eabers of the community and for those reasons are approved for
the continuing operation of the Public Assistance Line, KANDU.
The Board hereby authorizes disbursement of approximately

$1,300.00 to pay for said expenditures.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority
vote favoring same.
