RESOLUTION NO. 93- 102
MARCH 16, 1993
A RESOLUTION REQUEST1NG AND STRONGLY URGING
THE U. S. POSTAL SERVICE TO CHANGE THE ZIP
CODE IN THE NORTHWEST AREA OF COLLIER COUNTY,
FLORIDA, FROM THE CURRENT BONITA SPRINGS 33923
TO THE NORTH NAPLES 33963 ZIP CODE.
WHEREAS, the areas of Bonita Shores, Little Hickory Shores
and Barefoot Beach currently have a Bonita Springs mailing address
bUt are located within the unincorporated area of Collier county,
Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, has received numerous requests trom the residents within
the unincorporated arpa of Collier County that currently have a
Bonita Springe mailing address to have their zip code changed to a
North Naples zip code; and
WHEREAS, the Zip Code is used by insurance companies, the
Florida State Department of Kotor Vehicles and other agencies to
identify the county in which an individual resides; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County commissioners deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens of the Northwest Area of Collier
County to have a North Naples Zip Code for such area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the U. S. Postal
Service is hereby requested and strongly urged to Change the Zip
Code and mailing address of all the residents within the Northwest
section of the unincorporated area of Collier County that
currently have a mailing address of Bonita Springs 33923 to North
Naples 33963.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk to the Board is hereby
directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Naples
Postmaster, 1200 Goodlette Road, Naples, Florid, 33942 and the
Bonita Springs Postmaster, 9071 Bonita Beach Road SE, Bonita
Springs, Florida 33923.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority
vote.
