A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE
COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
TO EXECUTE A REIMBURSEMENT ACREEMENT BE1VEEN
THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
COllIER COUNTY FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE
lJINTERBERRY BRIDGE OVER SMOKEHOUSE CREEK
(BRIDGE NO. 034113)
\iHEREAS, due to Hurricane Andre...., Bridge No. 0)4113 suffered damage severe
enough to require closure to vehicular traffic; and
WEREAS, Bridge No. 034113 sl!!rves as a vital link bet.....een the eastern and
western portions of Marco Island for emergency services and traffic circulation;
and
\1HEREAS. an engineering study by the Florida Department of Transportation
(FOOT) has indicated that emergency repairs should be made to said bridge prior
to r.-opening the bridge to traffic; and
VHEREAS, Collier County has recognized the public need for immediate bridge
repair. has undertaken design/permitting services and is currently completing
bridge repairs with County personnel and equipment,
NOY, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNn COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY. FLORIDA, that the Board of County Commiss ioners does hereby
approve and authorize its Chairman to execute the attached Reimbursement
As;reement bet....een the FOOT and Collier County for funds expended by Collier
County on said emergency repairs .
