RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 301
RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH THE SPEED LIMIT ON CR 92
(SAN MARCO RD) AT THIRTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR (35
MPH) .
WHEREAS, section 316.189, Florida Statutes, and Collier
County Ordinance No. 91-25 authorizes the Board of County
Commieeioners to alter or establish speed limits on roads under
its jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, sound traffic engineering principles indicate
that CR 92 (San Marco Rd.) is residential in nature with
numerous driveway locations requiring motorists to back onto CR
92 and hae three (3) signalized intersections along the roadway
with numerous Bchool and pedestrian crossings;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
1. The speed limit on CR 92 (San Marco Rd.) shall be
reduced from forty-five miles per hour (45 MPH) and
is hereby established at thirty-five miles per hour
(35 MPH) on CR 92 (San Marco Rd.) between SR 951
(Collier Blvd) and Floral Street a distance of
approximately 2 1/2 miles.
2. Authorization is hereby given to the Transportation
Services Division to erect 35 MPH speed linit signs
along CR 92 (San Marco Rd.) in accordance with
Section 316.189, Florida statutes, and Colliar County
Ordinance No. 91-25.
3. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the
Collier County Sheriff for proper enforcement of
these speed limits.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second, and majority
vote.
