RESOLUTION NO. 2008- 179
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO
SUPPORT THE SELECTION OF A LOCAL VENDOR TO
OPERATE EVERGLADES PARK BOAT TOUR CONSESSION
SERVICES.
WHEREAS, boat tour concessions within the Everglades National Park has historically
been a uniquely local business enterprise consistent with the Everglades City cultures and
traditions; and
WHEREAS, it is the preference of the Collier County Board of Commissioners that a
local concessionaire be selected to provide such educational and cultural boat tours within the
Everglades National Park in the future; and
WHEREAS, awarding the Everglades National Park boat tour concession to a local
concessionaire will promote the Everglades City and Southwest Florida tourism industry and
significantly benefit the citizens residing within Collier County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: we urge the National Park
Service to consider the selection of a local concessionaire to provide its exclusive educational
and cultural tours and concessions to visitors of Everglades City and Southwest Florida.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote favoring same, this
