RESOLUTION NO. 96-425
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE INTERAGENCY
COORDINATING COUNC!L ON EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Interagency Coordinating Council on Early Childhood Services was created
through the Prekindergarten Early Intervention Program establisho-d by Section 230.2305,
Florida Statutes, to serve as preventive measures for children at risk of future school failure, to
enhance the educational readiness of all children, and to support family education and th~
involvement of parents in their child's educational progress; and
WHEREAS, Section 230.2305( 11), Florida Statutes, was amended to direct counties to
appoint three memh~rs; one member who is a provider of preschool care and education to J-ycar-
old and 4-year-old children; and two members who are representative of agencies responsible for
providing social, medical, dental, adult literacy, or transportation services, one of whom
represents the count:1 public health unit; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County received a
recommendation from Collier County Public Schools to appoint three applicants who meet said
prerequisits for appomtment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the following members are
hereby appointed to the 1996-1997 Interagency Coordinating Council:
Bob Riley, P,-ivate Provider
Cynthia Whetsell, R.N., Collier County Public Health Unit
Carol Zeedyk, R.N., Collier County Public Health Unit
Terms of appointment of said memhers shall be established at the first council meeting.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority vote.
